Marcus Rashford will be even more excited to sign for Barcelona permanently after latest transfer rumour

Marcus Rashford could end up playing alongside a former Manchester United target at Barcelona.

With Robert Lewandowski’s future in doubt at Barcelona, though, they could dip into the market for even more attacking reinforcement.

More United News

According to The Guardian, Barcelona have made Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane a top target ahead of 2026. The 32-year-old is Barcelona’s first-choice to replace Lewandowski.

United in Focus have also been told by transfer expert Graeme Bailey that Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland are on Barcelona’s shortlist for a new centre-forward.

Back in 2023, United were linked to Harry Kane alongside Rasmus Hojlund, but ultimately only the latter arrived at Old Trafford.

Kane is still open to a United move, but it seems Barcelona are currently leading the chase if he chooses to leave Bayern Munich.

Marcus Rashford loved playing alongside Harry Kane

Rashford could soon call Kane a teammate at Barcelona, and he has fond memories of sharing the pitch with him in an England shirt.

Kane is a huge admirer of Rashford and has been for years. They have played at both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups together.

Back in 2019, Rashford also piled praise on Kane and raved about how easy it was to play with him for England.

As quoted by HITC, Rashford said: “If you want someone to rely on – to get you goals – he is the man for the job. If there is a game where you only get one chance, you know that if it falls to him it is more likely to be a goal.”

“It breeds confidence throughout the team. He has done that terrifically when you speak about being a leader. To lead by example is the best way and he has been very good for England. In all of these games, we have just been gearing up for the summer.”
