Green Bay Packers: Micah Parsons explains why he is confident in team’s offense

The Green Bay Packers are 5-3-1 on the season, which is only good for third in the NFC North behind the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears. Their two consecutive losses, both of which have come at home, have dropped them from the number one seed in the NFC all the way down to the seventh spot in the early NFC Playoff picture.

Fortunately for the Packers, five of their remaining eight games are against NFC North opponents, which means they very much control their own destiny in terms of their divisional standing. After going just 1-5 against the NFC North last season, they are hoping for a much better showing against their rivals in 2025.

Unfortunately, though, Green Bay’s offense has been struggling lately. In Week Nine, the defense gave up just 16 points to the Carolina Panthers, but the offense could only muster 13. On Monday Night this week, the defense held the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles to 10 points. The Packers offense scored seven.

Indeed, something (or some things) are amiss on the offensive side of the ball, but star pass rusher Micah Parsons is not concerned.

Indeed, after losing two frustrating games in a row, many fans and media members are beginning to question the offense, head coach Matt LaFleur, and quarterback Jordan Love. However, Parsons believes the Packers still have everything they need on that side of the ball to be successful.

Per Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Parsons said, “My confidence [in the offense] is still high. I got Jordan Love at quarterback. I got Josh Jacobs at running back. We banged up at wide receiver, but we still got Doubs, Wicks. We got the weapons. Don’t hesitate; we got the talent.”

It is easy to forget, given the recent struggles, that it was not too long ago that Love completed 20 consecutive passes against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Romeo Doubs has been as solid a wide receiver as there is all season long and Wicks was solid in his first game back from a calf injury.

Of course, the offense misses Tucker Kraft, who is out for the year with a torn ACL. They will also now be without starting center Elgton Jenkins, who broke his leg on Monday night.

Somehow, someway, the offense needs to rally together and find a way to move the ball. It all starts up front with the offensive line, though, which has struggled in both pass and run blocking over the past several weeks. If they cannot figure out how to open running lanes for Josh Jacobs or keep Jordan Love clean, it is going to be a very long year.
