Some fans believe that the Buffalo Bills are in a slump, and their chances of reaching the Super Bowl could be slipping away. Their recent loss to the Miami Dolphins did more than damage their shot of becoming champions; it was also a huge blow to their egos.

Writing for NFL.com, Eric Edholm revealed that the Bills have taken a significant fall in the recent power rankings, dropping from the fifth spot all the way to the ninth. Now, fans are worried that they won’t be able to climb back up.

“What exactly should we do with the Bills? They followed up arguably their most important victory of the season with their biggest dud by a mile. This was a Dolphins team they’ve routinely batted around, and it wasn’t even close — Miami held the Bills off the scoreboard until the fourth quarter and never let them get going. Josh Allen played a poor game, but he rarely had open pass catchers to target, especially after Dalton Kincaid left with a hamstring injury. The passing game just isn’t working the way it should be, begging questions of why Buffalo doesn’t run more. Defensively, it was a major step back after the previous two weeks. There are enough games left on the schedule to right the ship, but the Patriots are threatening to run away with the AFC East,” Edholm wrote.

The Bills were hanging their heads low after their 30-13 loss at the hands of the Dolphins, but they are looking to bounce back in a big way this weekend when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The good news for the Bills is that the game will be held at home, and they have won eight of their last 10 home games. But it’s important to remember that they were the odds-on favorites to win in the Miami game, and they came up dreadfully short.

The Bills have problems up and down the roster, so there are numerous ways they can drop the ball against the Buccaneers. If they are able to secure a win, they could climb up the power rankings.

However, another loss will see them plummet like a rock, especially after last week’s shocking defeat.
