Well, Dart continues to remain in concussion protocol for now. It will be interesting to see if he can suit up on Sunday for the Giants or not against the Green Bay Packers. With this team having a 2-8 record, it would be better if he does not play this week and let him heal.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan gave the latest update about the concussion to the Giants rookie quarterback. He said,

“The Giants intend to be cautious with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart (concussion), per source. He was not out on the field Wednesday at practice. Coach Mike Kafka already declared Jameis Winston Sunday’s starter. Russell Wilson is the backup. There doesn’t appear to be any long-term concern though. Kafka: “He’s right on track and right on pace in the program.”

Well, with Jameis Winston in line to start on Sunday, it will be interesting to see how this goes. Winston at this point is a better option than Russell Wilson. Giants fans would rather see this. A lot of fans would have been disappointed if Wilson was the starter against the Packers.

There is no doubt that Dart is the long-term option for New York. In nine games this season, he has completed 62.7% of his passes for 1,417 yards, 10 touchdowns, and three touchdowns. Dart has also rushed for 317 yards on 57 carries and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 5.6 yards per carry. The Giants have run the ball with him way too much this season. It is not a bad thing that he won’t play against the Packers defense this weekend. They need him healthy for the long-term.
