La Liga champions Barcelona have set sights on a deal for Lanús prodigy Thomas de Martis.
This comes amid the Blaugrana’s ongoing search for up-and-coming attacking talent across the world of football.
De Martis, for his part, is a 17-year-old frontman, who generally operates at centre-forward.
The youngster has long been making a name for himself as a potential future star in the making in his home country of Argentina.
Despite his tender years, De Martis has already been promoted to the first-team setup at Primera División outfit Lanús.
On top of that, he has racked up a head-turning seven goals in eight appearances for Argentina’s U17s.
And as alluded to above, such exploits are now understood to have piqued the attentions of one of European football’s leading clubs.
As per a report from journalist Albert Fernandez of Gol:
‘Barca are monitoring Argentine forward Thomas de Martis. There has been interest for months.’
It now remains to be seen if the brass at the Spotify Camp Nou are willing to go as far as to table an offer for the youngster’s signature.
