Chelsea and Manchester City have enquired about the availability of Daniel Munoz, as they look to beat Barcelona to his signature.
Daniel Munoz’s consistent performances for club and country have resulted in a lot of interest in his services. While he still has a significant amount of time left on his contract, his future has become a big talking point.
According to Julian Capera via Semana, Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in acquiring the services of the Crystal Palace defensive mainstay. They have held talks with people close to the player to learn more about the terms of a potential deal.
Both Premier League clubs seem keen on reinforcing their backline mid-season, and they are looking for ways to beat a club like Barcelona to his signature.
While speaking about Munoz’s future, Capera said: “You ask about Barcelona, PSG, Chelsea. The situation is this: his team that surrounds and advises him, his representatives, have had informal communications, that’s how they’ve expressed it to me, with some emissaries from those teams,”
“With emissaries from Barcelona, which is the team that is receiving the most attention due to the publication in the Catalan media, especially because they are looking for competition for Koundé, and also some inquiries and probes from PSG regarding Hakimi’s situation.”
“This week Luis Enrique (PSG coach) spoke about the situation, he was asked about the possibility of another right-back , the name of Daniel Muñoz was put on the table, and he said: ‘we are not closing ourselves off to any signing, but we are taking it calmly’,”
“There are inquiries and informal conversations with people from Barcelona, with people from PSG, and even Chelsea and Manchester Cityhave added me to that list. As of today, November 11, 2025, there is no formal offer from Daniel Muñoz.”
Munoz’s sensational rise hasn’t gone unnoticed
Munoz has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Eagles at the start of 2024 from KRC Genk. Not only has he established himself as one of their mainstays, but he is also widely regarded as one of the most consistent full-backs in the Premier League.
On the back of his performances, Palace handed him a new deal earlier in the year. The new contract runs until the summer of 2028, and the club also has an option to extend his stay for another 12 months. Despite the new deal, interest in him remains very high.
Barcelona are one of the front-runners for his signature. They want to bring in someone who can battle Jules Kounde for a place in the XI, and they consider the 29-year-old just the perfect fit for their system.
Premier League duo are in talks to sign Munoz
Manchester City and Chelsea are also keen on his signature. The duo are looking for ways to beat the Catalan giants in the race. Both clubs have held talks with his camp as they look to get ahead of the competition.
City consider him an ideal replacement for Kyle Walker, who left the club in the summer, while the Blues are looking for another option at right-back as Enzo Maresca looks to play Reece James in the centre of the park going forward.
While there are no formal offers for the 29-year-old yet, his future will certainly be one to keep an eye on heading into the winter transfer window. Since there is a lot of time left on his deal, the Eagles are certain to demand a significant fee in case of a potential departure.
