Cardinals' Marvin Harrison Jr. undergoes appendix surgery, out vs. SF

Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. underwent appendix surgery and is out indefinitely, coach Jonathan Gannon announced Wednesday.

The typical recovery time is two to four weeks, but could be longer if the appendix ruptured, medical experts say.

Harrison's first absence will be when the Cardinals host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in Glendale, Ariz. Gannon, said Harrison had surgery Monday night.

Harrison hauled in three of 12 targets for 33 yards and a score in the Cardinals' loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in Seattle. He logged 34 catches for 535 yards and four scores through his first nine starts this season.

Gannon also announced that wide receivers Simi Fehoko (arm) and Zay Jones (Achilles) were placed on injured reserve. The Cardinals promoted wide receiver Andre Vaccellia from their practice squad.

Michael Wilson, Greg Dortch, Xavier Weaver and Baccellia are the healthy wide receivers on the Cardinals' active roster.

The Cardinals (3-6) will host the 49ers (6-4) at 4:05 p.m. EST Sunday at State Farm Stadium.
