Report: Clippers G Beal to have season-ending surgery to address fractured hip

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Bradley Beal will have season-ending surgery to repair a fractured hip, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Beal, a three-time All-Star, ends his first season with the Clippers after just six games.

The 32-year-old averaged 8.2 points and 1.7 assists per game with Los Angeles.

“We met with numerous doctors and specialists around the country in collaboration with the entire Clippers medical staff over the last few days, and came to the decision unanimously that the surgery will allow Brad to have a full and complete recovery,” Beal’s agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN.

The early end to the season continues a trend for the veteran of 14 seasons, as Beal has not played more than 60 games in a season since the 2018-19 campaign, when he was an All-Star with the Washington Wizards.

Beal spent the past two seasons with the Phoenix Suns before joining the Clippers, where he averaged over 30 minutes per game even while coming off the bench in 2024-25 for some of his season.

The native of St. Louis, MO joined the Clippers on a two-year contract worth $11 million in the off-season after he was waived by the Suns.

More to come.
