Wednesday was not Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni's finest day with the media.
Sirianni first got into it with Jon Ritchie on Sports Radio 94 WIP as they went back and forth on the fourth-and-six call at the end of the 10-7 Eagles win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 10. He then had to answer questions about star wide receiver A.J. Brown calling the Eagles an s-show on a stream.
That led to what was a contentious press conference, unlike anything Eagles fans have seen in a while.
Sirianni was in a war of words with Eagles reporters
One reporter asked Sirianni about the lack of targets for Brown after just having three targets and catching just two of them for 13 yards. The Eagles' head coach defended the fact that they were getting it to him, while acknowledging they want Brown to catch the ball more.
"If you look at that game, there was a lot of plays that were going to him and didn't for different reasons. For instance, Smitty's TD, that was for A.J., they took it away, and Jalen threw it over the top. You can't look at stats and paint the picture that way.. A.J. Brown is one of the best WR's in the NFL, of course, we're trying to get him involved in any way."
Brown's comments on the stream about the team were part of a question about whether Brown is a distraction off the field. Sirianni shut down that narrative quickly.
"No, I don't think so. You can only go off of your interactions and how they go about their work on a daily basis, which you guys aren't able to see. No, it's business as usual."
After moving away from topics about Brown, another question about him was brought up. This is the moment Sirianni lost his patience and snapped at the media.
"Guys, I'm close to being done answering these questions about this. He's working hard, and he is a big part of the game plan and will be going forward. He's working like crazy when he's here, and we're excited to have him."
Understandably, Sirianni is frustrated that he's been asked numerous questions since the Packers game about the fourth-and-six call at the end of the game and Brown's latest comments, despite the team being 7-2. Ultimately, though, Sirianni should know that he has to respond to these questions, as Philadelphia sports media and fans are smarter than some might believe.

If Sirianni thinks these questions are going to be done, he's got another thing coming. Welcome to Philadelphia, Nick. This is how things have been, and things will always be.
