Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs is the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 10 of the NFL season, the league announced on Wednesday.
During the Lions’ 44-22 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Gibbs ran for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries and caught three passes for 30 yards and one touchdown.
Gibbs scored the game’s first points on a 14-yard pass from quarterback Jared Goff, gave Detroit a 22-3 lead on a 13-yard run with 9:41 left in the first half and ran 43 yards for a touchdown as the Lions went up 41-16 with 12:50 remaining.
Gibbs led the NFC in scrimmage yards, rushing yards, yards per carry (at 9.5 yards) and touchdowns in Week 10.
Gibbs won the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in his career. He won for the first time in Week 18 of the 2024 season, when he had 139 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries and 31 yards and one touchdown on five receptions in a 31-9 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Jan. 5.
Gibbs is the second Detroit running back to win the award at least twice. Barry Sanders was the NFC Offensive Player of the Week 11 times.
Gibbs became the fifth former Alabama running back with multiple Offensive Player of the Week awards, joining Derrick Henry with nine, Shaun Alexander with seven and Mark Ingram and Eddie Lacy with two apiece.

The other Player of the Week Award winners for Week 10 were Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, AFC Offensive; Seattle Seahawks linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence, NFC Defensive; Houston Texans defensive end Danielle Hunter, AFC Defensive; New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd, NFC Special Teams; and New York Jets running back Kene Nwangwu, AFC Special Teams.
Gibbs is the fourth alumnus of an Alabama high school or college to win a Player of the Week Award during the NFL’s 2025 season. New England Patriots cornerback Marcus Jones (Enterprise, Troy) was the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 4, New Orleans Saints cornerback GaQuincy “Kool-Aid” McKinstry (Pinson Valley, Alabama) was the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 5 and Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean (Auburn) was the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 6.
