Pedro Neto now has new rival at Chelsea after Alejandro Garnacho record

Alejandro Garnacho did something very impressive in Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

Garnacho provided two assists on the night, setting up Malo Gusto and Pedro Neto.

However, that is not the only thing that would have impressed Chelsea fans, who now get to watch two of the quickest wingers in the Premier League.

Garnacho and Neto are no slouches, with the former definitely proving that in the victory over Wolves.

Alejandro Garnacho recorded top speed in Chelsea’s win against Wolves

Neto is widely regarded as the fastest player at Chelsea, but he could be about to lose that crown to Garnacho.

Before the 21-year-old set up Neto’s goal, he went on a run that saw him record a top speed of 33.95km/h!

Since arriving at Chelsea, though, Garnacho has proven to be more than a sprinter. While his top speed against Wolves was the highest in the game, again, he also managed to chip in with a couple of assists.

Before that, Garnacho scored a very important equaliser in the Champions League, netting in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Qarabag.

Simply put, the Argentina international is also bringing some end product to the pitch. John Obi Mikel appears to be a fan of Garnacho, and it has not been hard to see why so far.

Alejandro Garnacho nearly matched Pedro Neto’s top speed from one game last season

Garnacho’s top speed of 33.95km/h against Wolves saw him come very close to matching Neto’s top speed of 35.40km/h from one match during the 2024/25 campaign.

However, in the very same season, Garnacho actually had a top speed of 35.48 km/h in another match, surpassing his teammate.

The former Manchester United man, then, may already be the fastest man at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans will now be hoping to see Garnacho and Neto use their pace to exploit Barcelona’s high line when they travel to west London to face them in the Champions League after the international break.
