Newcastle United said goodbye to Alexander Isak on deadline day, but his Liverpool career has yet to take off.
After a summer of speculation and drama, Alexander Isak finalised his move to Liverpool on deadline day.
Isak forced his way out of Newcastle in rather unsavoury fashion, completely torpedoing his relationship with Toon fans.
So far, Isak has failed to impress for Liverpool and has struggled with injuries – just as he often did at Newcastle.

Isak was an unused substitute as Liverpool lost 3-0 to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds are taking it slowly with Isak after injury problems and a lack of pre-season, but he has made next to no impact, and December will be on the horizon after this international break.
Newcastle are struggling in front of goal at the moment, but fans will take a certain amount of pleasure from Isak’s struggles.
Pundit Don Hutchison has now commented on Isak’s exit, and he has suggested that Isak’s situation is all of his own making.

Hutchison, who grew up as a Newcastle fan, believes Isak is paying the price for a lack of professionalism over the summer.
Rather than sit out pre-season to force his move, Hutchison thinks Isak should have prepared as normal, so that he was ready and raring to go no matter what happened with his transfer.
Totally his own fault. He should have been professional, done his pre season properly with Newcastle. It was only ever gonna be 1 of 2 outcomes…
1..He goes to Liverpool and is 💯 fit, ready to play!!!
2..He stays at Newcastle and is ready to play.. https://t.co/cbIIx4O2NX

Alexander Isak could experience worst goalscoring season since Newcastle United transfer
It’s easy to forget that Newcastle took a real punt on Isak back in 2022.
The Swede had long been considered a top striking talent for the future, but the 2021-22 season was a difficult one for him.
Isak scored just six goals in 32 La Liga games for Real Sociedad, but Newcastle still splashed the cash.
Isak scored 10 times in an injury-hit first season, before racking up 21 goals in the 2023-24 Premier League campaign and 23 goals last season.
The Liverpool forward remains on zero goals in the Premier League season and his slow start could see him suffer his worst goalscoring season since joining the Magpies.
Isak could explode into form at a moment’s notice, but it’s been a testing start for him at Anfield.
