West Ham are considering an audacious move to sign Haji Wright once the January transfer window opens. According to ExWHUEmployee, the Hammers are looking to sign a new striker in order to bolster Nuno Espirito Santo's front line. However, there is an acceptance that such a deal could be hard to do.
The East London side are sitting in 18th position in the table after a disappointing start to the campaign. But back-to-back wins before the November international break has put the Irons level on points with 17th-place Burnley with signs of promise that the club can move up the Premier League table in the weeks ahead.
Doing so, however, may hinge on bringing in fresh recruits in the January transfer window.

West Ham's need for goals will lead them to try and sign a striker in the New Year, but according to ExWHUEmployee, that could be tricky to pull off.
Speaking on The West Ham Way Podcast, he said: "West Ham are eager to bring in a new frontman in the new year, with that signing ideally being domestic-based who is proven.
“This is not easy as at present options are limited, with the likes of Haji Wright at Coventry being one who is impressing, but difficult mid-season to sign. It may be the club are forced to look abroad for the solution, but the markets here will be fully explored as we look to strengthen.”
Described by Frank Lampard as 'dangerous', Wright joined Coventry City in the summer of 2023 for a club-record fee worth $9million (£6.85million). The USA international has scored 40 goals and provided 11 assists in 97 matches for the Sky Blues.
This term, Coventry are flying high in the Championship and sit top of the table with the 27-year-old scoring nine goals in 16 games so far.
Lampard will undoubtedly be reluctant to lose his star man in January, but West Ham may have no choice but to push through a deal if Niclas Fullkrug is moved on from the club, with a loan exit being given the green light.
ExWHUEmployee said: "The club will not roll over and pay wages for Fullkrug to leave on loan. If the player is desperate to leave, then he and his agent will need to accept that he will likely have to take a wage cut of moving on, with clubs in Germany and Italy said to be keen.”
However, GIVEMESPORT understands that Fullkrug would only be allowed to leave if a replacement was signed, opening the door to a potential move for Wright. It's also understood that Nuno wants the club to sign a defender, a midfielder and striker in January.
