Celebrate the Release of 'Wicked: For Good' With These Magical Pink and Green Recipes

Last November, after a highly anticipated release, Wicked finally made its way to the big screen—nearly 30 years after the novel was first published, and more than 20 years since it was first performed on Broadway. And one year later, the film’s sequel—Wicked: For Good—hits theaters in less than two weeks, and fans are buzzing in anticipation. Currently, the sequel is the most talked about release, surpassing the final season of Stranger Things, Avatar: Fire and Ash, and even weekly NFL football, according to a recent ScreenShare report.

During the first Wicked film, audiences watched as Elphaba (aka the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda (the Good Witch) navigated school together, where they developed an unexpected but close friendship. Wicked: For Good sees the pair “go their separate ways as Elphaba chooses to rebel against the Wizard and Glinda stays behind,” The Hollywood Reporter notes.

Early reviews praise the film. Deadline writer Destiny Jackson shared her thoughts on X, writing: “It’s an epic and heartbreakingly tender conclusion to one of the most dynamic friendships in pop culture history.”

Speaking about Wicked last year, director Jon M. Chu said: “I want people to see Wicked and experience it in a way they’ve never experienced before.” With Wicked: For Good, Chu hopes to do the same, with a few surprises up his sleeve. “I hope [audiences] get a few surprises that they’re not thinking about right now,” Chu told People.

In honor of the film, themed product releases are already underway. This September, Van Leeuwen released vegan matcha-strawberry ice cream in honor of the sequel, and Takis unveiled Wicked-themed chips. More recently, Dunkin’ added vegan-friendly pink and green drinks inspired by the film to its menu.
