Rams WR Davante Adams (oblique) misses practice, expected to play vs. Seahawks

LOS ANGELES — Rams receiver Davante Adams did not practice on Wednesday after injuring his oblique in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, but head coach Sean McVay said he does not expect that to impact Adams’ availability this weekend against the Seattle Seahawks.

“He’s making good progress, just did the walk through,” McVay said, adding he expects Adams to play against the Seahawks. “That’s what he tells me, he’s feeling good, so I trust the man. He’ll be ready.”

Adams pulled up while running a route in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s victory over the 49ers, reaching for his lower back and left oblique. He consulted with the training staff and tried to go to the coaching staff to reenter the game, only to follow VP of sports performance Reggie Scott to the injury tent.

He did not reenter the game, but McVay said Sunday he likely could have if not for the Rams’ comfortable lead.

Adams has not missed a game this season and leads the NFL with nine touchdown catches.

#### THE ART OF THE PUNCH OUT

In the locker room after the Rams’ Week 9 victory over the New Orleans Saints, linebacker Nate Landman stood surrounded by reporters when quarterback Matthew Stafford passed by.

“I just punch the ball out every game,” Stafford said, doing his best imitation of Landman’s mild Zimbabwean accent, “super easy.”

Landman was at it again in Week 10, knocking the ball out of 49ers receiver Jauan Jennings’ hand for his third forced fumble of the season and second in as many weeks.

It was a skill that Landman displayed in training camp that immediately captured his teammates’ imaginations, and has since brought that ability to life in big moments this season.

“Always looking for the ball,” Landman said. “I saw him try to break a tackle and that’s kind of when you’re hunting those opportunities through the shot.”

For McVay, what stood out about these last two forced fumbles was the similarity between safety Kam Curl’s role in the fumbles.

In each instance, Curl came down from his deep position to cause the runner to pause with the ball in his hand, trying to eek out any additional yards possible, only for Landman to come from behind and take advantage of that moment of indecision.

“When you’re in those positions, you’re trying to be able to get as many yards as possible and sometimes the ball’s gonna be susceptible and if it is, it’s really hard and difficult,” McVay said. “When you’re in traffic areas, if you don’t really get that off-hand cover, you’re always going to run the risk of putting it on the ground and Landman’s done an excellent job for us.”

#### INJURY REPORT

Rams defensive tackle Kobie Turner did not practice Wednesday as he dealt with pain in his back, McVay said.

“We’ll be smart with him,” McVay said.

Wide receiver Jordan Whittington was limited in practice with a back injury.
