Chelsea fans quietly get positive injury news on another crucial starter

[Chelsea](https://chelseanews.com/) are pushing to compete for the Premier League title for the first time in a while this season, as manager Enzo Maresca has made serious strides with a club that, once again, had a positive summer transfer window.

A bit frustratingly, though, Chelsea didn’t really address the center back position, and while young Josh Acheampong has been a positive factor, the Blues are still thin at the back.

What really hurt them was the ACL tear to star man Levi Colwill, who was by far the team’s best center back last season and is thus arguably the team’s third most important player behind Premier League Player of the Season candidates Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo over in midfield.

The good news is that Colwill may not be all that far away from a return. According to Kieran Gill of the Daily Mail, Colwill has been making positive strides in his recovery with no setbacks and is rehabbing well. Thus, there is hope he can return before the end of the season.

If all goes to plan, Colwill could be ready to play for Chelsea when they are in the home stretch of the Champions League knockouts and a potential Premier League title race.

Again, that’s a very rosy proposition, but the fact that it is even on the table is huge, and Chelsea fans should be happy that Colwill is making good progress overall.
