Opinion: Estevao Willian is in serious danger of annoying Chelsea fans for no reason at all

Estevao Willian couldn’t have asked for a better start to life as a Chelsea player after he made his move from Palmeiras over the summer.

The youngster has been protected by Enzo Maresca since his move, however it is becoming more difficult for the boss to not be starting him regularly in the Premier League.

Estevao has also shone in the Champions League, scoring in both games he has started in Europe this season.

With domestic football now being paused, Estevao has been called up by Brazil for their friendly fixtures against Senegal and Tunisia, both played in Europe.

Estevao Willian risking annoying Chelsea fans after social media post with Richarlison

The Brazil first team squad are currently training at Arsenal’s facilities, and the youngster has been spotted in action with Tottenham striker Richarlison.

Chelsea fans need no invitation to share their disdain for their London rivals, and they had no issue gloating following the 1-0 win over Spurs recently.

However, there will be some Blues supporters who will not have been happy after Estevao’s Instagram story shared a picture with Richarlison in Brazil training.

The youngster would do well to avoid antagonising Chelsea supporters who have greatly warmed to him already at Stamford Bridge, as he looks to continue to prove his case to Maresca.

The rivalry between the two sides has seen very few feature for both sides, however there are some notable examples of players who have risked the wrath of one set of supporters.

Players to feature for both Chelsea and Tottenham

William Gallas played a key role in Chelsea winning two Premier League titles in the mid-2000s, however he completed the trio of big London clubs when he played for both Arsenal and Spurs afterwards.

Other notable examples of players to feature for both sides include Carlo Cudicini, Gus Poyet, Timo Werner and Eidar Gudjohnsen, with the latter already having plenty of credit in the bank in West London.

Any current Chelsea player would do well to avoid socialising with Tottenham players, however Estevao is not the first to fall into the trap.

Enzo Fernandez has posted pictures with Cristian Romero, with the duo both part of the 2022 World Cup winning side.
