Newcastle United snapped up two forwards over the summer but may still move for Brentford’s Igor Thiago in 2026.
It’s all change in Newcastle United’s attack this season.
Alexander Isak forced his move to Liverpool, and Callum Wilson joined West Ham United after leaving Newcastle on a free transfer.
Nick Woltemade arrived in a big-money move from Stuttgart, before Yoane Wissa came in from Brentford.
Woltemade is being questioned despite his goalscoring exploits, while Wissa still hasn’t made his debut due to injury.

Newcastle United interested in signing Brentford’s Igor Thiago
Newcastle could look to bring in another striker in 2026, especially with Woltemade potentially better suited to a slightly deeper role.
Trivela in Brazil now report that Newcastle are interested in raiding Brentford for Igor Thiago.
It’s stated that Newcastle have ‘already made enquiries’ into signing Thiago, with Tottenham Hotspur also interested.
MORE NEWCASTLE STORIES
Reports earlier this season hinted at Newcastle’s interest in Thiago, but it may now have gone a step further with contact made.
The Brazilian has racked up eight goals in 11 Premier League games this season.
Thiago has stepped up after Wissa left Brentford for Newcastle, but the 24-year-old could yet make the same move.
Eddie Howe saw Thiago score twice as Brentford beat Newcastle 3-1 on Sunday and may now fancy luring the Bees striker to Tyneside.
William Osula situation could dictate Newcastle striker chase
Brentford will likely command a huge fee for Thiago, just as they did for Wissa over the summer.
Thiago is now making a big Premier League impact after a quiet first season in West London, but any Newcastle move surely hinges on William Osula.
Eintracht Frankfurt continue to chase Osula after missing out on a deadline day deal for the Danish forward.
Osula has impressed Howe this season, and Newcastle may be reluctant to let him leave in January.
It’s difficult to see Newcastle signing another striker unless Osula leaves, and Brentford will surely rule out a January deal anyway.
Thiago could be one to watch for next summer, but much will depend on how Osula’s future plays out.
