Newcastle United defender Malick Thiaw has revealed he will 'never forget' the moment he first heard his chant being sung from the terraces.
Thiaw has been one of the Magpies' best summer signings since his completing his £34.6million move from AC Milan and has already established himself as a key player under Eddie Howe.
The 24-year-old has become fans' favourite, too, and his chant, an adaptation of the Italian folk song 'Bella Ciao' is now a regular fixture on the St James' Park terraces.
It first came to prominence in Brussels, as fans chanted it into the night after Newcastle's 4-0 win over Belgian champions Union SG in the Champions League.

The chant goes: "Oh na na na na, o h na na na na, Malick Thiaw, Malick Thiaw, Malick, Thiaw! Thiaw! Thiaw!
"Came from Milano, t o play with Sandro, a nd he loves the f-----Toon."
And speaking back in Germany, after his performances at Newcastle earned him a first international recall in over two years, Thiaw revealed he loves the lyrics and admitted he was 'surprised' to be adorned with a chant so quickly in his Magpies career.
"I know the lyrics – they're outstanding," Thiaw told Sky Deutschland.
"I've never had a song like that in my career. I was surprised when I first heard it. My teammates then told me – without downplaying it – that it's common in England.
"Nevertheless, it was wonderful for me. I first heard the song at an away game when I was standing in front of the fans. I'll never forget that moment."
