‘Green light’ to sign Nottingham Forest player – Now need to convince him

OGC Nice have become the latest club to join the race to sign Nottingham Forest’s Arnaud Kalimuendo in the winter market, according to Jeunes Footeux.

The striker spent three years at Stade Rennais and left them for the Reds in August. He’s played 217 minutes from nine matches for Nottingham Forest and is yet to score or register an assist.

Nice manager Franck Haise knows the 23-year-old well as he managed him at RC Lens between 2020 and 2022.

Kalimuendo amounted 21 goals and six assists from 65 matches under Haise at Lens. The coach would like to sign him on loan for Nice in the next window.

The report adds Nice sporting director Florian Maurice, who signed the player for Stade Rennais in 2022, has ‘given the green light’ for this operation. The Ligue 1 side aren’t alone as there are other clubs keen.

Two days ago, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg reported VfL Wolfsburg have made contact with the frontman’s agent. He also stated Nottingham Forest are open to his exit if there’s an interesting offer. Paris FC are also credited with interest.

Jeunes Footeux relay all this and then add the Nottingham Forest summer signing isn’t prioritising a return to France.

Nice [and Paris FC] will have to convince him to change his stance to secure his services in January.
