Andy Robertson tells Liverpool fans exactly when is the time to worry about Reds poor form

It’s no secret that Liverpool have been in terrible form this season.

The Reds are doing a poor job of trying to retain the Premier League title, with Arne Slot’s men often getting embarrassed by their opponents.

Their most recent game against Manchester City was the best example of this, as, even though Liverpool were coming off two solid wins against Aston Villa and Real Madrid, they failed to show up against the Cityzens.

Fans are now starting to worry about whether the Anfield outfit actually have what it takes to put up a challenge for the top-flight title.

However, it seems like Liverpool’s first-team squad aren’t too worried about that yet, especially after what Robertson said about when everyone should start to worry.

Andy Robertson doesn’t think Liverpool’s fans should be worried about their form until Christmas

The fact that Liverpool are currently eighth in the Premier League table is a travesty.

Last season, Slot’s men were one of the most dominant forces in the world, and to be honest, it felt like they should’ve got a lot more from the 2024-25 campaign than they did.

And even though their new signings were supposed to make them better, it’s actually made them worse.

However, Robertson doesn’t think fans should be too hung up on the Reds’ form until Christmas, and then, if Liverpool are nowhere near the title race, that’s when they should worry.

“Obviously, we’ve given ourselves a huge uphill battle, but I don’t think any of the teams will really look at the league table until we’re halfway through,” he said in quotes relayed by BBC Sport.

“We have got to pick up points on a more consistent basis – then let’s see where we are after Christmas time or whatever.

“I don’t think you can talk about the title this early on in the season, regardless of what position you’re in, but you need to then consistently start winning games again for that to even come into question.

“It’s definitely not a question that’s getting spoken about in the changing room or anything.”

Andy Robertson has found a new level to his game after Milos Kerkez joined Liverpool

Last season, it felt like Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas were way past their best.

The left-backs had been good servants for Liverpool during their time with the club.

However, since both were getting on a bit, Milos Kerkez was brought in to become the Reds’ new first-choice left-back.

At the moment, things just haven’t worked out that way, and instead, Robertson seems to have taken it back a few years as he has seemed to get back to his best on multiple occasions this term.

Although none of Liverpool’s first-team squad have performed particularly well, the rebirth of Robertson has been a sight to behold, and since his contract is set to expire at the end of the season, it feels like it’ll only be a matter of time before he’s offered a new deal.

Because, even though Tsimikas is doing well with AS Roma, it’s hard to see the Greek Scouser being handed a regular first team role for Liverpool upon his return.
