Ezri Konsa has hailed the impact of Unai Emery on his "amazing" growth in football.
Konsa has developed into one of the top centre-backs in the country in recent seasons and has been a key part of [Villa's](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/all-about/aston-villa-fc) rise under Emery which has seen them go from relegation candidates to Champions League quarter-finalists.
The 28-year-old has also cemented himself in Thomas Tuchel's plans, starting all but one of the German's eight games in charge, which is a good position to find himself in during a World Cup year.
"I just feel right now, at this moment in time, I'm enjoying my football a lot," Konsa said.
"I feel confident going into games and obviously working under Unai the last three seasons, it's been really important.
"I've looked at football differently, the way he's wanted us to play. His style of play, and mine, has been amazing in my growth in football.
"And look, I'm 28, they say you are going into your prime now, so I feel really good at the moment, playing a lot of games, and hopefully I can stay consistent throughout the whole season."
Konsa, who began his career at Charlton and made his Premier League debut as a 21-year-old, has enjoyed Emery's style of slow build-up play from the back.
Asked to name one thing that he has learned from the Spaniard, Konsa said: "Centre-backs to start the build-up. Take time on the ball, make sure you go into the opposition, drive into it and not pass too early.
"So I think since he's come in, I've managed to do that. I've managed to grow my game and I really enjoying working under him. And, like I said, enjoying my football."
Konsa is expected to be in the team for the final World Cup qualifiers against Serbia at Wembley on Thursday, with England's position in next summer's tournament already guaranteed.
Jude Bellingham has returned to the squad after missing the September camp through injury and then being left out in October.
Konsa says the Real Madrid star, along with returning Manchester City forward Phil Foden, are welcome back in the squad, but have not driven the standards higher.
"We all drive the standards. That's what we're here for, to set standards," he said.
"Standards have been very high. And Jude and Phil are great players, great additions to the team. It's the same standards when they come. Everyone drives it.
"We've had a great few camps, we've already qualified but we know in the next few games, we need to keep the standards, we want to stay consistent, and then I'm sure we're going go out strong tomorrow.
"We want to win these two games, and obviously we know that Serbia are going to come out strong. They need to win.
"They've got a new coach, great players as well. So it is going to be a tough game, but I'm sure we'll be ready."
