Mavs YouTube Roundup: Fire Nico Chants Actually Worked Edition

Can I be honest with you? Today is the first day the RoundUp has felt like getting back on the horse and aggregating the whole of YouTube because—well—we’ve been depressed just like (many of) you have. I think today is a good day to call 2025 in the Dallas Mavericks universe what it has been - a collective trauma.

We will remember where we were on that fateful February night, and now on [Corduroy Day](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/11:11_(numerology)), we get to finally exhale. Maybe grieve a little, howl at the moon tonight, and enjoy a beverage of your choice while toasting to better days.

There will be best sellers written and documentaries made in the years to come but we lived through it, felt it, and now can begin to come out the other side of it. A new era of Dallas Mavericks basketball has not arrived just yet but the seal has been broken and room has been made to imagine what it will feel like to hope again.

Stretching back to the turn of the century, the Dallas Mavericks have largely been a relevant, winning franchise. For some, it is all they have ever known around these parts. For those of us who lived through the wilderness of the 90s, we known in our bones the decisions the new brain trust makes this season will determine whether the Cooper Flagg era can flourish into something fun and exciting or whether the mistakes of the last year will haunt this Mavericks into a decade of karmic atonement. To avoid that even darker timeline, the needle must be threaded. Yet now it is at least possible to move towards tomorrow rather than stubborn attempts to justify yesterday.

We’ll have more to say about the end of Harrison’s reign, but for now, enjoy the best of YouTube reactions to today’s news.
