Vini Jr just took one step closer to being sent packing by Real Madrid

It wouldn't be a normal season at Real Madrid if there wasn't some kind of drama being spoken about more than the successes. Whether it's drama involving issues on or off the pitch, there is always something going on at Los Blancos, which ultimately can be a major distraction for the club and the players.

Given the number of stars in the Real Madrid squad and a new manager at the helm, it's no surprise that the club has been a hot talking point so far this season. The headlines range from player unrest to losing faith in Xabi Alonso and everything else under the sun. And for one player in particular, just as with other seasons, he takes a number of the headlines.

We are, of course, talking about Vini Jr. Considering his star level, the Brazilian has been in the headlines several times so far this season, and it doesn't seem like that's going to stop anytime soon. Vini is in the headlines again, and he could be inching closer and closer to seeing his time at the club come to an end.

Vini Jr just took one step closer to being sent packing by Real Madrid

As reported by Sport, Vini Jr is demanding to be paid on the same level as Kylian Mbappé during his ongoing contract extension talks, a demand which is unlikely to be met. This seems to be a big sticking point for the Brazilian, who feels he is on the same level as Mbappé, and could use this dissatisfaction as another reason to look to leave the club.

Kylian Mbappé currently earns around €31 million per year gross salary, broken down to around €600,000 per week. For comparison Vinicius currently earns around €20 million per season, significantly less than Mbappé which has left the Brazilian questioning his future in the Spanish capital.

These contract disputes could ultimately lead one step closer to Vini's departure from the club once his contract expires in 2027. We've all seen his frustrations with Xabi Alonso this season and adding his frustrations with his contract into the mix and we could be seeing the last few year of Vinicius at Real Madrid.

The Brazilian has had a somewhat polarizing season for Real Madrid, he's managed to bag five goals and four assists in La Liga this season but that's been overshadowed by his outbursts towards Xabi Alonso regarding being substituted in matches and that has unfortunately taken all the talking points.

His current contract doesn't expire until 2027, so there's still plenty of time to resolve all these issues, but whether or not the player and the club want to resolve these issues remains complex.
