Liverpool trying to sign one of the best players in the world

[Liverpool](https://walkon.com/) had an ambitious summer transfer window where they signed the biggest young gem playmaker in world football in Florian Wirtz and the best striker of the 2024/25 Premier League season in Alexander Isak, spending nearly 300 million euros combined on just those two players.

The Reds are still just as ambitious when eyeing potential summer 2026 transfers, and after changing their attacking lineup with three major signings (adding in Hugo Ekitike), Liverpool are now looking at a bold move in midfield.

According to a report from Caught Offside, Liverpool are keeping a close eye on PSG superstar Vitinha as a transfer target, as they view him as one of the best midfielders in the world from a technical perspective.

But per Caught Offside, PSG obviously know the caliber of player that the Portuguese international is, and they would not be willing to sell Vitinha for any less than 130 million euros.

After spending about that much on Wirtz and Isak last summer, it’s hard to see Liverpool doing the same for Vitinha, and they already have some high quality midfielders in Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister, and, of course, Premier League Player of the Season candidates Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch.

But imagine the Ballon d’Or candidate Vitinha and Gravenberch ruling the midfield together. There’s nothing wrong with Liverpool doing their due diligence and maybe dreaming just a little bit.
