Fenerbahçe defender Jayden Oosterwolde may be a name to keep an eye on ahead of the January transfer window. Newcastle United and West Ham United fans in particular will want to keep him on their radar.
That’s according to journalist Sercan Hamzaoğlu anyway. He puts Oosterwolde back in the picture today, although he doesn’t name any suitors directly.
He shared a clip from an appearance on 343, in which he said “there’s a team interested in signing Oosterwolde from the Premier League. If her sale goes through, Fenerbahçe could enter the Rüdiger transfer window.”.
He also shared another clip-on X in which he provided more details on the matter.
“One day, I was chatting with coach İsmail Kartal and he told me, ‘A Premier League team wanted to sign Jayden Oosterwolde as a center-back,’ he said.
“The chairman asked, and I said ‘no.’ This English club has placed Jayden Oosterwolde back on the transfer list.”
Again, to be clear, he didn’t name the Premier League club directly. But It was West Ham and Newcastle who were linked this year.
A report from Türkiye at the end of May linked both clubs with a potential move. That came after both had been linked the previous summer, alongside Nottingham Forest.
A separate report at the beginning of September then stated Newcastle had tabled a bid for Oosterwolde. There was no mention of West Ham at that point.
Now Hamzaoğlu reports that a Premier League team wants to sign Oosterwolde in the January transfer window. Given the previous interest, we would suggest keeping a close eye on West Ham and Newcastle.
