Matthew Stafford played a role in finding Charissa Thompson's boyfriend

Charissa Thompson is one of sports most beloved TV hosts, but the FOX Sports star is also one of the few media members who can say she caught a lob from an NFL quarterback and his family when it came to finding love for herself.

The Thompson, who also co-hosts the Calm Down podcast with Erin Andrews, revealed that her boyfriend since 2022, Los Angeles entrepreneur Steven Cundari, was introduced to her by Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly. They apparently decided it was time to take matters into their own hands after seeing their friend on the dating market.

"Matthew and Kelly were sick of me dating losers,” Thompson admitted on her Calm Down podcast. "And they were like, 'We have a great guy for you.' So they were the matchmakers. It was vetted. I know the social security and the bank account now, so all is right."

Cundari is a marketing executive, venture partner, and startup investor with over 10 years of experience in building consumer brands and creative agencies. He is widely recognized on the West Coast for his expertise in brand growth and innovative disruption.

Cundari's name gained attention in sports media due to his connection with Thompson, who remains one of Fox Sports’ most prominent NFL personalities. Andrews, her podcast partner and longtime friend, was quick to endorse the new relationship.

"I basically call him her husband because I'm thinking it into existence," Andrews said. "You will love him. Great sense of humor, super fun, good hang. Can go to the work party and just be with my husband [Jarret Stoll]. You would love him."

Thompson and Andrews paid the matchmaking moment forward after taking their deserved "credit" for suggesting the now-famous Travis Kelce–Taylor Swift pairing long before it became a global phenomenon.

The engaged couple has since become a fixture in pop culture and vacationed with the podcasters on a low-key getaway last year.

Thompson remains one of Fox Sports’ most active on-air personalities. She hosted the network’s Veterans Day special with the NFL on FOX team. She was in Denver last Sunday to cover the Broncos' 10-7 victory over the Raiders in a game many fans considered one of the most uneventful matchups of the season.

The broadcaster has no issues being candid about her personal and professional life.

On a recent episode of Calm Down, she also detailed a far less glamorous behind-the-scenes moment from October 16, when she became violently ill before Thursday Night Football between the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.

"We might have pinpointed it to the seafood tower from the night before, but either way, it hit me during the production meeting," Thompson revealed.

"By the time the game rolled around, I was lights, camera, action, b---- smile, no problem. I didn’t have any issues on air. I didn’t even bring it up to my boss. It wasn’t even worth bringing up to my bosses because I was fine."
