Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has offered some words of advice to his club and national teammate Lamine Yamal, who continues to recover from a groin injury that has sidelined him in recent weeks.
The young winger’s fitness issues have sparked tension between Barcelona and the Spanish national team, but Ferran’s comments show a more personal and supportive side of the story.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Spain’s World Cup qualifier against Georgia, Ferran shared the simple yet practical guidance he had given to the teenage sensation.
“Treatment and gym work, the basics,” recommended the Barcelona forward as quoted by SPORT.
With Yamal unavailable, Ferran is expected to step in and replace him in the national team.
Ferran understands the spotlight
The 25-year-old also addressed the spotlight that continues to follow Yamal, acknowledging how questions about the 18-year-old dominate every press conference.

“I’m not surprised that the first question is about Lamine. We’re here, the players who are available.
“The manager will decide and we will give our best,” explained the player, showing maturity and focus despite the mounting external noise.
Questions over Yamal’s fitness
Yamal’s injury situation has been a point of contention between Barcelona and La Roja since September, when he played two international matches despite carrying an injury.
That decision left Barcelona frustrated, as it caused the youngster to miss several club fixtures, including the match against Sevilla, and later ruled him out of Spain’s October break as he continued to experience pubic discomfort.
This recurrence of pain has forced both club and country to rethink how they manage his workload.
While Luis de la Fuente continues to rely on Yamal’s talent, Barcelona have made it clear that his long-term health must come first.
