Cleveland Browns wide receiver Malachi Corley was given two more touches this past Sunday against the New York Jets, bringing his season total to only six, but his role in the offense is growing, evidenced by his 20 offensive snaps, seven more than his previous season-high. The 23-year-old is proving to be a very useful weapon, and his role should only continue to increase moving forward.
Last week, we looked at Corley's performance over his first four games in Cleveland, with his effectiveness on jet sweeps injecting some much-needed life into the offense. Against New York, the team that drafted him, he again was given the ball on jet sweeps, turning his two carries into 32 yards while breaking two tackles. Three of his four rushes on the season have now gone for at least 15 yards, and defenses are beginning to take notice.
