After two home losses dropped the Green Bay Packers from the top seed in the NFC to the seventh seed, everyone in the organization is coming under scrutiny.
So what better time to take a look at general manager Brian Gutekunst compared to the man who hired him, Ron Wolf, and the man who mentored him, Ted Thompson.
Just how does Gutekunst stack up to NFL Hall of Famer Wolf and Packers Hall of Famer, Thompson? Make your own judgement. Here are the facts.
Wolf (1992-2001)
First-Round Picks: CB Terrell Buckley, LB Wayne Simmons, S George Teague, G Aaron Taylor, CB Craig Newsome, T John Michels, G Ross Verba, DL Vonnie Holliday, DB Antuan Edwards, TE Bubba Franks and DE Jamal Reynolds.
Analysis: He's not in the Hall for his first-rounders. Give him two hits with Simmons and Holliday, a close one with Franks and four misses in Buckley (over Wisconsin's Troy Vincent), Michels, Edwards and Reynolds.
Good 2nd Rounders (3): T Chad Clifton, S Darren Sharper, WR Robert Ferguson.
Analysis: Could have done better here as well, although Clifton and Sharper were really good.
Good Mid-Rounders (3rd-5th) (14): DE Kabeer Gbaja-Biamilia, LB Nail Diggs, DT Cledius Hunt, CB Mike McKenzie, QB Aaron Brooks, C Mike Flanagan, CB Tyrone Williams, WR Antonio Freeman, WR Robert Brooks, FB William Henderson, RB Dorsey Levens, QB Mark Brunell, T Earl Dotson, RB Edgar Bennett.
Analysis: Wolf did very well here.
Late Round (6th-7th) Hits (9): T Mark Tauscher, WR Donald Driver, QB Matt Hasselbeck, G Marco Rivera, G Adam Timmerman, DE Keith McKenzie, TE Mark Chmura, CB Doug Evans, WR Bill Schroeder.
Analysis: This is where he made his money.
Best Free Agent: DE Reggie White
Best Trade: QB Brett Favre
Thompson (2005-17)
First-Round Picks: QB Aaron Rodgers, LB A.J. Hawk, DT Justin Harrell, DT B.J. Raji, LB Clay Matthews, T Bryan Bulaga, T Derrick Sherrod, DE Nick Perry, DE Datone Jones, S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, CB Demetrius Randall, DT Kenny Clark.
Analysis: Five hits with Rodgers, Raji, Matthews, Bulaga and Clark. And five misses, two because of injury, with Harrell, Sherrod, Jones, Clinton-Dix, and Randall.
Good Second-Rounders (8): WR Jordy Nelson, WR Davante Adams, RB Eddie Lacy, CB Casey Hayward, WR Randall Cobb, S Morgan Burnett, WR Greg Jennings, S Nick Collins.
Analysis: Thompson could find wide receivers in the second round. That's for sure.
Good Mid-Rounders (3rd-5th) (10) RB Jamaal Williams, RB Aaron Jones, LB Kyle Fackrell, DE Dean Lowry, C Corey Linsley, DB Micah Hyde, T David Bakhtiari, DT Mike Daniels, G T.J. Lang, G Josh Sitton.
Analysis: There were some really good picks made here.
Late Round (6th-7th) Hits (4): QB Matt Flynn, RB James Starks, LB Desmond Bishop, K Mason Crosby.
Analysis: He did OK here.
Best Free Agent: Charles Woodson
Best Trade: Using pick obtained from Jets for Favre to move up for Matthews.
Gutekunst (2018-present)
First-Round Picks: CB Jaire Alexander, DE Rashan Gary, S Darnell Savage, QB Jordan Love, CB Eric Stokes, LB Quay Walker, DT Devonte Wyatt, DE Lukas Van Ness, OL Jordan Morgan, WR Matthew Golden.
Analysis: Three hits with Alexander, Gary and Love. Two misses with Stokes and Van Ness (so far). The jury is still out on Walker and Wyatt and same with Morgan and Golden.
Good Second-Rounders (3): LB Edgerrin Cooper, WR Jayden Reed, WR Christian Watson.
Analysis: S Javon Bullard and OL Anthony Belton could add to this list.
Mid Round (3rd-5th) Hits (7): S Evan Williams, WR Dontayvion Wicks, TE Tucker Kraft, WR Romeo Doubs, T Zach Tom, G Elgton Jenkins, WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
Analysis: Again more could be added, but only a few less than Thompson is a lot less time.
Late Round (6th-7th) Hits (5): CB Carrington Valentine, T Rasheed Walker, DT Karl Brooks, DT Colby Wooden, G Jon Runyan.
Analysis: Already more than Ted, but needs a few more to catch Wolf.
Best Free Agent: Xavier McKinney
Best Trade: Micah Parsons
