Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen called teammate Vinicius Jr a ‘great guy’ and talked about the overcriticism of the Brazilian in a recent interview.
Speaking on Radio MARCA, Huijsen defended Vinicius Jr and talked about how the media is always critical of him, and how good a person he is in real life.
He said: “He is an incredible guy, a very good boy. He’s such a big player that when he does the slightest thing, you all criticise him. I think you criticise him too much, many times excessively and unnecessary.”
Huijsen also spoke on how the cameras are always on Vinicius Jr, and how every action — negative or positive — is bound to be caught if that is the case.
He said: “All the cameras are on him, and if you focus on someone with a camera for the 90 minutes of a match, you’re bound to see something. If you focused on me, you’d see it too, or on Militão, Asencio. You’d see something from everyone.”
Vinicius Jr is currently away on international duty, and is preparing to play against Senegal and Tunisia for Brazil.
Huijsen and Spain, on the other hand, will face Georgia and Turkey during the international break.
