Crystal Palace unhappy with player – Loan move has been a disaster

Crystal Palace youngster Hindolo Mustapha looks likely to return to the club in January after a very unsuccessful loan spell at FC Nuremberg.

[That’s according to BILD](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/fcn-kritik-von-klose-dieser-nuernberg-star-steht-vor-dem-aus-6914671885499be17f55fa8a), who say the Crystal Palace youngster is the German side’s ‘biggest transfer flop’ this season.

He joined from Crystal Palace in the summer after impressing in the Premier League’s youth system. He had 15 goals contributions in 23 games last year.

However, he’s done nothing but struggle in Germany. His record so far has been ‘dismal’. He’s managed two ‘lacklustre’ appearances for the reserve team and been nowhere near the first team for the second-division squad.

There have also been reports of disciplinary issues behind the scenes. Coach Miroslav Klose has also hinted at issues in his latest comments on the loanee.

_“It’s important that they have the quality and the right attitude towards the sport,”_ he said.

_“Because I’m not one to push them to run. I might mention it three times, but that’s the maximum I’ll say in individual sessions. And then I’m done.”_

BILD add that he made no secret of the fact that Mustapha has “never made the squad”. This is primarily because of his defensive deficiencies.

Quite simply, the Crystal Palace youngster hasn’t improved for months [after starting poorly](https://sportwitness.co.uk/crystal-palace-youngster-struggling-on-loan-major-adjustment-and-motivation-issues/). It is very unlikely that his loan deal will be extended. It may even be cancelled in January.

Indeed, there is dissatisfaction all round. Crystal Palace are even believed to be unhappy with the player. They would have expected more from this loan deal and instead, it’s been nothing but a disaster.
