Man City transfer target Rodrygo is “on the brink” of leaving Real Madrid in January, according to reports.
The Brazilian is frustrated by his lack of first-team football, having started just four times this season, and TEAMtalk claim he is now poised to push for a move midway through the season.
City have been keeping close tabs on Rodrygo’s situation for several months, having considered him as a potential target to replace Savinho.

However, they did not make a formal bid in the summer, with the winger making it clear at the time that he wanted to fight for his place at the Bernabeu.
Man City will have competition for Rodrygo
If the 24-year-old does make it known to Real that he wants to leave early in the New Year, City will not be the only club vying for his signature.
TEAMtalk have suggested that Chelsea are keen on Rodrygo as well, with head coach Enzo Maresca said to be a big fan. However, the Blues will only be able to make an offer if they can raise funds first.
City, in contrast, are already in a position to make a formal bid if the forward decides his time at Real has come to an end.
Rodrygo’s asking price has dropped
In the summer, it was reported that Real were holding out for a transfer fee of around €100m (£88m), but they have reportedly lowered their valuation significantly since then.
It is believed that a proposal between €60m (£53m) and €80m (£70m) would be considered. That is still a broad range, but those numbers are unlikely to put off the Cityzens from making an approach if they do opt to sign Rodrygo. His reported wage demands of €10m a season (or £170,000 a week) are also well within the club’s means.
