Liverpool Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Alisson And 2 More

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is a doubt ahead of their next game against Nottingham Forest after the international break.

The Reds have struggled recently, falling to eighth in the Premier League table, eight points away from league leaders Arsenal, after Arne Slot’s side tasted a 3-0 defeat to Man City last weekend.

Liverpool will no doubt be glad of the international break, as it gives them a chance to reset and get back to normal after what has been a very poor spell of form under Slot.

One benefit is that they may have first-choice goalkeeper Alisson back after the break, as Slot has maintained that their next game against Nottingham Forest is a target return day for the keeper. He said over the weekend: “Alisson for sure [after the break], I don’t expect Jeremie [Frimpong] to be fully fit for Forest, but with Alisson, we expect this.”

Alisson has been out since the start of October with a hamstring injury, similar to his injury this time last season.

Expected return date – Saturday 22 November vs Nottingham Forest (H)

Jeremie Frimpong

As already mentioned, Frimpong is also an injury concern with a hamstring injury. He has been out for over two weeks now, and is working to come back after the break. However, Slot has said that the Forest game is likely to come too soon for the full-back.

Slot said: “I expect Jeremie back after the international break because we play from November until March! But I don’t expect Jeremie to be fully fit for Forest.”

Expected return date – Wednesday 3 December vs Sunderland (H)

Giovanni Leoni

Defender Leoni suffered a season-ending ACL injury in September, just weeks after he joined Liverpool, which was a huge blow for the Italian youngster.

Slot said at the time: “Being so young and coming to a new country and playing so well in your first game, it’s very hard to take the positives. But you try to look at that, and that is that he is still so young, and he has so many years still to go after he recovers.”

Expected return date – August 2026
