Jordan Pickford shares whether he'd rather win silverware with Everton or England

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will be in action for England in their final two World Cup Qualifiers over the coming days.

Despite being the England number one for the best part of the last decade, silverware is something that has eluded Pickford.

Having been dumped out of the Carabao Cup in the early stages, Everton are now left gunning for the FA Cup in the New Year.

Given his credentials for the national side, pundits like Darren Bent have claimed Pickford is too good for Everton over the year.

However, the 31-year-old has now inked a new deal which will keep him on Merseyside until 2029.

And Pickford is thinking about getting his hands on silverware, with a clear vision already in his mind on the back of his new deal.

Jordan Pickford is eyeing silverware amid big years for Everton and England

Moyes has been absolutely delighted with Pickford and the commitment the England number one has shown at Everton.

The 31-year-old is deserving of some silverware to show for his career having come mightily close twice with England.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Pickford did admit he’d prefer to win a major honour with the Three Lions over the Toffees, though.

When asked if he could win one thing in the remainder of his career, Pickford replied: “World Cup. That would be the goal the whole nation is waiting for.

“I think for me, it would be to lift that World Cup or lift a major trophy for England would be number one and if I could ever get silverware at Everton that would be number two.

“The dream would be lifting the World Cup.”

Pickford has big hopes for Everton this season, with the shot stopper eyeing a European finish in the Friedkins’ first full season in charge.

It could potentially be a huge eight months ahead for Pickford, who could make history for both club and country by lifting some silverware.

Pickford deserves to lift silverware in his career

The loyalty which Pickford has shown towards the Blues has been immense over recent years where struggles have been endured.

Pickford wants to surpass Neville Southall’s Everton legacy, which would certainly take some doing.

However, that should not understate just how important the England goalkeeper has been on Merseyside in what have been some shaky times for the club.

Wayne Rooney thinks Pickford is criminally underrated for the consistency he has shown with both club and country.

It would be fitting for the Washington-born goalkeeper to cap off his 2025/26 campaign with a medal around his neck.

And there wouldn’t be many more deserving if he was able to achieve that with Everton.
