The Colts are on a bye week this week and will have a tough schedule after the bye week. Indianapolis has played well this season because of running back Jonathan Taylor, but quarterback Daniel Jones has helped this offense flourish as well. Jones was supposed to compete with Anthony Richardson in training camp, but he basically won the job by default. With him signing a one-year deal with the Colts, is there any chance that he could be with Indianapolis for the long-term?

There are many questions about whether or not Danny Dimes is going to receive a long-term deal with the Colts this offseason. ESPN.com NFL insider Jeremy Fowler believes that he is going to get a long-term deal with this franchise. He said,

“Jones has a chance to become the biggest earner in the free agency class. The Colts appear all-in on keeping Jones long term, and they have comps for former top-10 picks who thrived when quarterbacking a new team: Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold, who each earned three-year deals worth around $100 million. Jones would totally be justified asking for that … with interest.”

This season with Indianapolis, he has completed 69.9% of his passes for 2,659 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Jones has also rushed for 143 yards on 40 carries and five touchdowns, along with averaging 3.6 yards per carry. He is 28 years old. If Jones does get a long-term deal with the Colts, it would be a big deal for him and the franchise.
