Jordan Love Has Promising Words, Despite Packers' Offense Showing Bad Signs

The heat has picked up on Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love and head coach Matt LaFleur. On paper, this Packers' offense should be above average, but for a lot of the season, Love hasn’t looked as great as some anticipated him to be, and LaFleur hasn’t pushed all the right buttons.

That was very evident on Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, as they scored just seven points at home.

That isn’t to say that the Eagles’ defense isn’t arguably the best in the NFL, especially after the addition of Jaelan Phillips at the trade deadline, but scoring seven points at home, especially when they only gave up 10, isn’t ever going to cut it.

Had the Packers just been even slightly below average on the offensive side of the football, this would've been a game that they walked away with a win in with relative ease.

When speaking to reporters after the game, it sounds like Love understands that he’s not playing his best football. While it’s been disappointing that he hasn’t played as well as he should be this year, it’s a promising sign that the young quarterback at least understands that he needs to improve and will attempt to in the future.

“I know as a defense, they definitely have every reason to look at us and say, ‘What are you guys doing? You guys need to figure it out and help us out and put up some more points,’ because they’re doing a great job,” Love said, via ESPN. “It’s frustrating, but we’ll stay together. We’ll keep the energy high and find ways to get better and be better as an offense.”

It’s always unfair to a point to blame one player or one unit, but it was truly the Packers' offense that couldn’t get them to win.

It's fair to look back at some other games throughout the year and suggest that the Packers' defense didn’t come up big for them, but for the most part, this has been a very good unit throughout the season.
