Joe Flacco brushes off question about Bengals star Joe Burrow’s return

Cincinnati Bengals veteran quarterback Joe Flacco isn’t thinking too much on the day after Sunday’s duel between the Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Flacco joined the Bengals via trade ahead of the Week 6 duel against the Green Bay Packers.

After just one win and three losses, he will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers (his only win in Week 7), set to win the head-to-head matchup. While Flacco prepares for a tough matchup, starting quarterback Joe Burrow returned to practice in a limited capacity.

Barring any setback, he will make his return to the field, and Zac Taylor will bench Flacco. Despite all the comments, Flacco isn’t paying attention to the external noise.

“I don’t know, I think backups probably do it a good amount where they know like, ‘Hey, this guy’s coming back, he’s got a three-week injury or whatever it is,'” Flacco said, via The Cincinnati Enquirer. “I’m honestly not really thinking about it. It’s not really a part of my process. I really don’t care. It’s this week, and that’s all that matters. And I think to think about that stuff would just be a distraction. So it’s not really something I’m worried about.

“Like I said, I’m just worried about doing my job, and this week that’s going out and playing against Pittsburgh.”

Flacco’s first game with Cincy was a 27-18 loss to the Packers. He pulled off a big 33-31 win against the Steelers in Week 7 before starring in two high-scoring games, first losing 39-38 to the New York Jets and 47-42 to the Chicago Bears before the Bengals entered their bye week.

In four games, the former Super Bowl champion has gone 112 of 173 for 1,254 yards and 11 touchdowns against two interceptions. He has done a solid job filling in for Burrow, but the Bengals’ defense has let the offense down more than once.
