The cornerback loves to put his career in jeopardy. Dallas County grand jury reportedly indicted him on a misdemeanor charge for failing to report a felony. This legal trouble puts the two-time Super Bowl champion’s NFL future on thin ice.

Tennessee Titans Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed Caught in Texas Legal Storm

For the unversed, the drama that began this chaos is a shooting accident that occurred on December 6, 2024, at a car dealership in Carrollton, Texas.

Christian Nshimiyimana, who owns an exotic car rental business, was sitting inside a Mercedes G-Wagon researching vehicles when Sneed and his personal assistant allegedly pulled up in a rented Lamborghini Urus and shot at him.

The Tennessean for “The State of Texas vs. L’Jarius Sneed” collects the indictment filing thatreadsSneed allegedly observed an aggravated assault where serious bodily injury or death could have resulted, then knowingly failed to report it to law enforcement. No one was hit by the gunfire, luckily, but bullets hit the Mercedes and a nearby building.

Sneed’s companion, Tekonzae Williams, was indicted Tuesday on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges. Both men were arrested by Carrollton Police Department on aggravated assault allegations after the shooting.

According to the lawsuit, Nshimiyimana didn’t recognize Sneed from his NFL career and doesn’t recall ever meeting him before that day. It also suggests the defendants might have mistaken Nshimiyimana for someone else.

The Titans have acknowledged the situation. They’re coordinating with NFL Security per league protocol. But this creates serious complications for a franchise already struggling through a brutal season with the worst 1-8 record.

$1 Million Lawsuit Adds More Heat to Cornerback’s Troubles

Nshimiyimana hassued the 28-year-old for $1 million in damages.The civil lawsuit, filed February 20 in Dallas County, accuses Sneed and a defendant listed as John Doe of “an unprovoked attack in cold blood and broad daylight.”

The plaintiff’s attorney didn’t mince words. Levi McCathernstatedthe unprovoked assault is “part of a pattern of behavior for Mr. Sneed, and he must be held responsible for his actions so they do not happen again.”

Tennessee traded for Sneed last March and inked him to a four-year, $76 million contract. The deal made him the NFL’s fifth-highest-paid cornerback at the time. He played just five games in 2024 before landing on injured reserve with a quadriceps injury.
