Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins has been signed off the team’s practice squad by the New York Giants. Hodgins has been with the Steelers for well over a month but has yet to play in any games, and will have a chance to do on the Giants’ active roster.
Hodgins was most recently with theSan Francisco 49ers, but was released during final cut downs. He had not signed with a team since then, so the Steelers were the first team he joined since that time. Hodgins can not only play wide receiver, but is a special teamer with experience.
A sixth-round pick out of Oregon State by the Buffalo Bills, Hodgins has experience playing outside and in the slot with the teams. He has 60 receptions for 634 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in his career.
Hodgins spent his first three seasons in the NFL with the Bills, but was cut in the middle of 2022 when the Giants claimed him off waivers. He would spent the next three years there until the expiration of his rookie contract.
Standing at 6-foot-4, Hodgins has unique size for the position. His father, James, was a fullback and that gives him a level of experience around the game since the time he was a kid. His brother played defensive line at Oregon State.
