Aston Villa midfielder Amadou Onana has heaped praise on Manchester City star Jeremy Doku. He believes he is now “one of the best wingers in the world”.

Belgium take on Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein looking to secure qualification for the World Cup.

Doku will likely be a key player, as he heads into the break in fine form. He’s established himself as a key player for Manchester City this season and was the star man in the 3-0 win over Liverpool before the break.

He capped a dazzling performance against the Reds in which he had tormented their defence throughout with a super solo, curling effort from outside the box.

Doku appears to have considerably upped his game this season. He’s already on three goals and four assists in 19 games in all competitions this season. That puts him on course to better his eight goals and nine assists in 41 games last season.

Onana has been watching him shining for Manchester City like everyone else. And the Aston Villa midfielder is full of praise for his Belgium teammate.

“He’s becoming more important. He’s also refined and perfected his game a lot,” he said.

“(He is) much more effective now. I think he’s, for me, one of the best wingers in the world, quite simply, if we’re talking about intrinsic quality.

“I’m happy to see him shine in the Premier League and I hope he’ll be in the same form as City for this upcoming match.”
