January exit for Wolves player considered “a concrete possibility”

Brazilian outlet [**Bolavip**](https://br.bolavip.com/palmeiras/arias-voltando-ao-brasil-para-jogar-no-palmeiras-tem-chance-concreta-de-acontecer-em-janeiro-de-2026) reports that Wolves’ Jhon Arias could return to Brazil as early as January 2026, with Palmeiras now seen as the frontrunner to sign the attacking midfielder.

The report explains that Palmeiras’ interest in Arias is not new. The São Paulo side already tried to sign him before his move to Fluminense’s Premier League transfer last year, but the Rio club refused to sell him to a domestic competitor at the time.

With Arias struggling for minutes in England, the situation has now changed, and Palmeiras believe a deal is “a concrete possibility” for the next window.

Palmeiras’ transfer strategy focuses on market opportunities rather than volume, and club directors reportedly see Arias as a high-impact player who fits that model.

The club are said to be waiting for a green light from the player’s agents before opening formal talks with Wolves, with everything depending on whether Arias decides to return to South America.

The report adds that Flamengo are also keen, but Palmeiras hold an advantage. According to Bolavip, Arias’ representatives are not enthusiastic about the idea of him joining a direct rival of Fluminense, which makes Palmeiras a more likely destination if he leaves England.

Arias left Brazil last year hoping to “fulfil a dream” by playing in the Premier League, but [**limited playing time**](https://sportwitness.co.uk/fresh-reports-claim-wolves-winger-is-worried-about-world-cup-chances/) at Wolves has fuelled constant speculation in his home continent.

Whether this turns into another rumour or a real move will depend on his next decision… and how much Wolves are willing to negotiate in January.
