Klay Thompson calls out Patrick Beverley, Jason Williams over questionable comments on Meghan…

Dallas Mavericks guard Klay Thompson took issue with Patrick Beverley and Jason Williams’ recent comments on his girlfriend, rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Thompson, who has been under scrutiny this season over his lack of production, lashed out at the former NBA players.

During Wednesday’s episode of the “Hoopin’ N Hollerin‘” podcast, Williams made questionable comments about Thompson’s relationship with he rapper, implying that the four-time NBA champion’s level decreased since he started dating Meghan.

“It only takes one p**** to drag a battleship across the desert. That’s how powerful it is,” Williams told Beverley. “Klay Thompson, I ain’t sayin’ that’s what it is … but that might be what it is.”

A day later, Thompson responded with a scathing comment on Instagram.

“Referring to my GF as a ‘p****’ is so disgusting and disturbing,” Thompson wrote. “Especially from someone who played in the NBA. How would yall feel if I referred to your wives in such a way ? @patbev21”

“Do better fellas. Very disappointing”

His girlfriend hasn’t reacted to the comments yet, but one would imagine this won’t be the end of this situation.

After becoming one of the greatest players in Golden State Warriors history, Thompson signed with the Mavericks ahead of the 2024-25 season to create a big three with Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic and then Irving and Anthony Davis.

Thompson’s numbers decreased last season, and things have reached a new level this campaign. He is averaging 8.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists while shooting 32% from the field, 28.9% from deep and 100% from the free-throw line (on 0.5 free throw attempts per game).

The Mavericks are 3-9 despite adding rookie Cooper Flagg in the 2025 draft and D’Angelo Russell in free agency. The slow start to the season forced the front office to fire general manager Nico Harrison, who traded Doncic to the Lakers back in February.
