Liverpool fans will love new update regarding "world-class" Reds player on international duty

Sweden manager Graham Potter has now provided a fresh update on Alexander Isak that Liverpool supporters will be relieved to hear.

It has been a slow start to Isak’s Reds career, with the 26-year-old struggling for match fitness after failing to enjoy a proper pre-season at Newcastle United.

Not only that, but he has also been missing through injury of late, meaning he hasn’t appeared for Liverpool since the 5-1 win away to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League last month.

A positive update has now emerged regarding Isak, however, with Sweden boss Potter confirming that he is fit and raring to go during the current international break [via This Is Anfield]: “Alexander is here. I spoke to him briefly. He is doing well, has no issues.”

Isak’s Liverpool career to take off after the internationals?

For Liverpool fans, it is a case of keeping their fingers crossed that Isak can not only enjoy some good minutes for Sweden, but also return to Anfield later in the month raring to go.

The Reds’ record signing will be as frustrated as anyone that his career is yet to ignite on Merseyside, but he is a special striker who Eddie Howe has waxed lyrical over in the past:

“Alex is a world-class talent. The way he took his goals, he has that coolness and composure very few have. When you add into the mix his technical skills, I think he’s got it all. He has unique skills, and the challenge is to get him into the game as much as we can. Earlier in the season we weren’t doing that, but now the team are performing much better.”

Isak is one of the best players in the world, and a few slow months shouldn’t change that, so if he suddenly finds his feet after the internationals, it will instantly make Liverpool a bigger force.

Arne Slot has a big job on his hands when it comes to fitting him, Florian Wirtz, and Mohamed Salah into the same team, and also keeping Hugo Ekitike happy, but things must change for the better sooner rather than later.
