On Wednesday, a judge set Brown’s bail at $25,000 and placed him under house arrest with a GPS ankle monitor, according to ESPN.

The former NFL wide receiver was taken into custody in Dubai last week after social media posts tipped off authorities to his whereabouts.

U.S. Marshals Service agents apprehended Brown and he was first sent to Essex County Correctional Facility in New Jersey on Thursday, Nov. 6, before he was transferred to Florida, a police spokesperson confirmed with PEOPLE at the time.

A warrant was issued for the former NFL star in June following the shooting, which happened on May 17 after a celebrity boxing event hosted by streamer Adin Ross.

Video footage posted to X allegedly showed Brown fighting with several people before the group moved to a nearby alley. Brown could be seen running toward the group while holding something in his hand seconds before a loud sound resembling gun shots is heard, PEOPLE previously reported.

Earlier this week, Brown pleaded not guilty to the second-degree attempted murder charge, which carries a potential 15-year prison sentence, according to ESPN.

Brown last played in the NFL in 2021 and spent most of his 12-year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

His run-ins with the law include a 2019 civil case in which he was accused of sexually assaulting his former trainer.

After the case was settled, the league suspended Brown for eight games for multiple violations of its personal conduct policy.

Following a dispute with a moving truck driver, he was charged with burglary with assault, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and criminal mischief.

Brown pleaded no contest and served two years of probation, per documents obtained by PEOPLE. In October 2023, he was arrested for failure to pay court-ordered child support to Wiltrice Jackson, the mother of his eldest daughter.
