The Jets wanted a third-round selection back for him, but the Kansas City Chiefs offered a fourth-round pick for him and New York didn’t accept the deal. There is a good chance that Hall could leave the Jets for other franchises this offseason. He will be one of the best players on the free agent market this offseason and might be the best running back on the market as well.

Jeremy Fowler of espn.com wrote about different NFL free agents this upcoming offseason about what to expect. The Jets tried to trade Hall at the trade deadline, but they couldn’t find a suitor for him. There will be plenty of suitors for him in free agency this offseason. Fowler said,
“Hall was coveted at the trade deadline. That the Jets wanted a third-round pick in return for a running back reminds that Hall has top-end talent. And my sense is he will do just fine in free agency — think Josh Jacobs‘ four-year, $48 million deal signed in March 2024 as a possibility. A few personnel evaluators thought that was a fair contract comp.”
Hall has played in nine games this season. He has rushed for 664 yards on 138 carries and two touchdowns, along with averaging 4.8 yards per carry. Hall has also caught 22 passes for 220 yards receiving and one touchdown, along with averaging 10.0 yards per reception. He has been targeted 31 times this season. It would have been interesting had Kansas City traded for him.
This offseason, the Chiefs, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Cincinnati Bengals could be some of the teams that could be potentially interested in him. Hall doesn’t probably want to be in the long-term plans of the Jets anyways since they’re rebuilding and have a 2-7 record this season.
