Browns safety on wearing Alabama gear: ‘I’m about to throw up’

Cleveland Browns safety Grant Delpit arrived at his Thursday press conference wearing an Alabama pullover hoodie.

“I got two minutes with this on,” Delpit announced.

A two-time consensus All-American at LSU, Delpit obviously had lost a bet to one of his Cleveland teammates who played for the Crimson Tide. On Saturday, Alabama defeated LSU 20-9.

“Who did you lose a bet with – Jerry (Jeudy)?” Delpit was asked.

“It’s not even important, really,” Delpit responded before adding, “I feel like I’m about to throw up.”

Delpit answered one question, then said, “All right, I think we got pictures” and took off the Alabama garb.

But during the press conference, Delpit looked to the side and said, “It already happened.”

To which came a reply that the press conference was “not over yet.”

A former Alabama wide receiver, Jeudy had arrived to see the bet paid off in person.

“That wasn’t the deal,” Delpit said. “See how people start adding stuff on. He said I got to wear it for the interview. I wore it for the interview. Look, pictures last forever. We act like this is going to disappear.”

Delpit completed his press conference without putting the Alabama hoodie back on or picking it up off the floor as he left.
