Leeds United tipped to sack Daniel Farke and poach PL rival's manager - Ally McCoist reacts

Leeds United could be forced to sack Daniel Farke soon if results persist, and they could be alerted to the possible availability of Fulham’s Marco Silva.

Daniel Farke’s position at Leeds has never looked weaker than it does now. Surprisingly, though, he remains in the job despite the fanbase’s sudden shift.

The next run of games, an incredibly tough run mind you, could be crucial in determining whether the German keeps his job.

What does the future hold for Daniel Farke as Leeds United manager?

Four defeats in the last five is not a good look for Leeds and Farke. That is especially so when you apply the context that, in that run, Leeds have played 19th, 18th, 17th, and 11th as well as fifth-placed Spurs.

11 points from 11 games is a decent return on face value too. But, given that Leeds have an incredibly tough run until early January, playing top-half teams almost exclusively, that respectable points return is sure to take a hit.

As things stand, Farke is keeping his job, but upcoming games leading a potential drop below 1-point-per-game and a drop into the relegation zone could spell the end for Farke.

Marco Silva could become available as potential Daniel Farke replacement this month

Leeds fans have since weighed up who they would hypothetically take if Farke was to be dismissed. For me, a pragmatic manager with experience at a top-flight level would be what’s required.

Interestingly, Fulham could be about to make a bold decision on Marco Silva, amidst tensions behind the scenes due to a poor summer of recruitment and their worrying slip towards the bottom three.

The Cottagers had an underwhelming summer and are now level on points with United, having snatched a lucky late win against Farke’s men in September. Without those extra two points from claiming an undeserved victory, Fulham would be in the bottom three.

Ally McCoist reacts to suggestion of Leeds United sacking Daniel Farke to bring in Marco Silva

TalkSPORT presenter Alan Brazil asked the question to Ally McCoist this week of whether United should sack Farke.

In dismissing Farke, it was put to McCoist that Leeds would replace him with Silva, to which the former Rangers striker responded.

“I don’t know. I have a great degree of sympathy for Farke. He wasn’t even in the top flight and people said he wasn’t the man to lead them, which was really unfair,” McCoist said on Wednesday.

“All of the newly-promoted sides have started well, Sunderland the pick of the bunch. Leeds and Burnley are drifting into an area I thought they’d be. But in my opinion, I’m sticking with Farke.”

I don’t agree – Leeds United would make a massive upgrade replacing Daniel Farke with Marco Silva

Again, from the outside looking in, neutrals like McCoist will say that we’ve made an encouraging start this season. After all, we’re not in the bottom three. Yet.

But, many Leeds fans are simply not happy with how we’re setting up each week. Farke isn’t playing to the squad’s strengths and has been unwilling to adapt ever since he was appointed.

It worked in the Championship when we had the best squad in the division. However, it won’t work in the Premier League when we have probably one of the worst five squads in the division.

Silva, meanwhile, has proven his ability to adapt to what squad he’s been given. He’s punched above his weight with Fulham, and ultimately, has consistently got regular goals out of whatever striker he’s got.

It would be an outstanding upgrade if Leeds went from Farke to Silva.
