Losing Mohammed Kudus in the summer proved a major setback for West Ham United.
The Ghanaian has been outstanding since joining Tottenham, while the Hammers have struggled to replace his dynamism and creativity in the final third.
Although Crysencio Summerville has shown flashes of brilliance and Jarrod Bowen remains a consistent threat, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side still lack a true out-and-out winger capable of stretching defences and providing direct attacking threat.
Now, it seems the Portuguese manager could turn to a familiar face to solve that problem.

According to Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett, West Ham are exploring a January move for Adama Traoré, with Nuno keen on reuniting with the explosive winger he previously managed at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Traoré, who joined Fulham in 2023, has just a few months remaining on his current contract, and Marco Silva’s side are reportedly open to sanctioning a sale in the winter window to avoid losing him for free next summer.
Posting on X, Dorsett revealed: “West Ham interested in a possible deal for Fulham’s Adama Traore in January.
“Nuno has a very close relationship with the winger from Wolverhampton Wanderers days, and has tried to sign him before. Deal could be done, with Traore’s contract expiring this summer.”
Traoré, once described as “terrific” by Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague, produced the best football of his career under Nuno, recording 13 goal contributions in the 2019/20 Premier League season.
Known for his blistering pace and ability to beat defenders one-on-one, he could bring exactly the kind of directness and unpredictability West Ham have been missing.
If Nuno can help Traoré rediscover his old form, it could be a low-risk, high-upside move — and a timely boost to West Ham’s attacking options heading into the second half of the season.
