When it rains, it pours for the Green Bay Packers. Once again, injuries might derail their path to the Super Bowl.

They were already struggling to get much going from their offensive line. Now, things have gotten worse, as the Packers got bad news about Elgton Jenkins’ injury.

“Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said two-time Pro Bowl C/G Elgton Jenkins suffered a leg fracture and it’s highly unlikely he’ll return this season,” Ari Meirov wrote on X.

Jenkins hadn’t been at his best this season. He was struggling to make the transition from guard to center, and the Packers’ line as a whole has been a major disappointment.

Despite that, head coach Matt LaFleur has been adamant about establishing the run. That’s usually the best way to help the quarterback, but not in this case.

Josh Jacobs is regularly getting hit behind the line of scrimmage. He’s an elite running back, but even he can only do so much when there are no lanes, and that has left quarterback Jordan Love repeatedly facing third-and-long situations.

That’s not going to get much better now that the starting center is out. As a result, Green Bay will have to pivot and put even more weight on Love’s shoulders.

As for Jenkins, this could be the end of the line for him with the Packers. There were already reservations about giving him the big-money contract extension he was looking for after changing positions, and this injury only raises more doubts. Hopefully, it won’t come back to haunt the team when it matters most.
